About Us

Lyla Research is where frontline firefighting meets frontier data science. We’re a team of engineers, scientists, and firefighters who have lived through the devastation of wildfires—and we know firsthand the urgency of this crisis.

Christian engineered a fire cart company to protect his home after two wildfires breached his property line in Santa Paula. Tyler, a volunteer firefighter, is launching a community-based fire response unit. And Tony—a cloud architect and AI specialist with 30 years of big data experience—just completed his master’s in Data Science with a 4.0 GPA. His thesis built an optimized Random Forest model that predicted wildfire destruction with 86% accuracy and an ROC-AUC of 0.9345, outperforming XGBoost and traditional methods alike.

Our first product is a precision forecasting engine that integrates elevation profiles, wind corridor simulations, historical burn patterns, and structural metadata to predict home vulnerability with unmatched precision. Traditional models rely on outdated rules of thumb. We’re replacing them with probabilistic forecasting engines built for the climate era.

We started with the integrations—CalFire, NOAA, USGS—because we’re a data-first company. Everyone else starts with spreadsheets. We started with the pipeline.
